Brentwood

A CENTRALLY LOCATED NEIGHBORHOOD IN WESTSIDE LOS ANGELES

BRENTWOOD is a neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles in the Westside region of Los Angeles County. Neighboring communities include Bel-Air, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and Westwood. Brentwood is approximately 15.22 square miles in size, has a population of just over 33,300, and is in the 90049 zip code. This neighborhood is located at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains. Brentwood is bounded by the San Diego 405 Freeway to the east, Wilshire Boulevard to the south, Santa Monica city limits to the southwest, Topanga State Park to the west and Mulholland Drive along the ridgeline of the mountains to the north. It is also known as one of the "Three Bs," along with Beverly Hills and Bel-Air. The BRENTWOOD COUNTRY CLUB is a focal point of the community, as is San Vicente Boulevard which is divided by a wide median and a large number of Coral Trees. The BRENTWOOD COUNTRY MART also provides a collection of shops and restaurants for the neighborhood.

Brentwood features a number of residential sub-districts which include: (1) BRENTWOOD CIRCLE - a gated community east of Barrington and north of Sunset; (2) BRENTWOOD GLEN - an area bounded by Sunset, the 405 Freeway and the Veterans Administration; (3) BUNDY CANYON - which is home to Mount St. Mary's College and the GETTY CENTER (though the latter is only accessible from Sepulveda Blvd.); (4) CRESTWOOD HILLS - which includes a number of architecturally significant mid-century modern residences located in the northern part of Kenter Canyon; (5) KENTER CANYON - the larger canyon containing Crestwood Hills, between Bundy Canyon and Mandeville Canyon; and (6) MANDEVILLE CANYON - the westernmost part of Brentwood, which is north of Sunset and extends about 3 miles towards the North. For additional information visit BRENTWOOD.
